Types of Braces
The traditional metal braces you are most familiar with are still available, but so are many newer options that offer the same effective treatment in a less noticeable way.
The types of braces available for you depend on the extent of your treatment and a number of other factors: the need for surgery or extractions; whether appliances are necessary; and your own personal preferences.
We will work closely with you to determine the best option for you.
Dr.Altuna offers many options for braces:
- Metal - SPEED System – SPEED Braces have revolutionized orthodontics by eliminating the need for the elastics that traditional braces require to straighten teeth. They are small; typically 1/3 smaller than traditional braces, and they look great!
- Clear Braces – A virtually invisible method for straightening your teeth.
- Invisalign® – Invisalign uses a series of aligners to gradually move teeth into place. Invisalign is typically more suitable for adults, but some teens may be able to take advantage of this comfortable and easy treatment.
